You will also find a huge variety of things to see and do in the surrounding countryside.
Each year a number of major festivals and special events are held, including the world famous Shrewsbury Flower Show in August. The town has recently started to honour its most famous son Charles Darwin, by organising an annual Darwin Festival. The annual arts festival, Shrewsbury Summer Season, runs from June to August with a series of music, visual arts and theatre events.
